Pipeline Developer, Lighting

Description

As a Lighting Pipeline Developer, you will bring your deep knowledge of Katana multi-shot lighting workflows and tool development to help design and build a Houdini Solaris lighting pipeline. You will collaborate with our Houdini experts to introduce tried-and-true, studio-scale workflows to the Solaris framework and leverage your extensive production experience to create intuitive and self-documenting tools.

Key Responsibilities

? Architect, design, build and solve complex, systematic problems in the domain of Houdini pipeline workflows for lighting departments

? Gather requirements across large collaboration efforts that span multiple departments and/or disciplines

? Write technical briefs and user documentation

? Partner with software development leadership and pipeline team to identify and schedule tasks

Minimum Qualifications

? At least five (5) years of experience writing Katana pipeline code using Python

? Ability to write clean well structured Python code

? Understanding of object-oriented design

? Demonstrated talent for designing intuitive, artist-friendly workflows without sacrificing functionality

Preferred Qualifications

? Background as a lighter using Katana in production

? General understanding of rendering technology

? Familiarity with Deadline

? Familiarity using Houdini, especially writing pipeline code

? Familiarity with OpenUSD/ Hydra

? Strong written and verbal communication skills
